Your comments

Hi Dheric,

Just to understand I believe your end goal is to be able to add descriptions to any and all objects thats are missing comments.

You can do this 2 ways
1) The Database Documentation page will give you a list of all the oebjects if they are populated or not
2) Create an Excel export of your Database documentation and filter based on the blank comments.
2.1) identify objects that have no comments
2.2) populate them
2.3) save the comments
2.4) upload it back into the tool

Please let me know if this helped you or not.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Dheric,

Thank you for reaching out to support. We have multiple ways on how you will be able to extract DDL. Can you please confirm the desired goal and why are we trying to get this?

Goal:
1) create statements for a table
2) get comments for a table

This will help me understand the use case better to provide a solution on how you can achieve this.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Kenneth,

Goal:
You are working in concurrent working mode in one of your projects. During the Live DB Compare you see some differences. You want to know how you can generate the alter to update the Live DB

To achive the goal mentioned above please follow the following steps:
1. Merge your changes to the main branch

2. Open the main branch

3. Navigate to Environemnt tab

4. Create an environment for the DB that you used during the Live comparson on

5. Navigate to Release tag

6. Compare your project to the environment

7. Select Generate alter from the top right side

8. if you have Git integration set-up for this project. Then you will be able to push it to your repository or you will be able to run the script in your Database directly

Please let me know if you are unable to perform any of the steps mentioned above.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Kevin,

My name is Retinder Labana and I am a Solutions Architect at SqlDBM. Just to recap on the issue you mentioned above

Issue: Want to be able to visualize objects from different databases.

Solution:
A out of a box solution for this is currently not available that being said. This is something the team is working on and will be supported soon. In the meantime, I would like you to follow the following steps:
1) RE your objects. They will be grouped by schema
2) Navigate to Database Explorer

3)Select a Schema. The property panel should open on the right side

4)Add the database name in front of the schema and separate them by dot"."

All objects should inherit the database name.

If you have any questions or are unable to perform any of the steps mentioned above. Please let us know.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Tim,

I have just shard a a new proposed time for your Tuesday and my Monday evening. Please let me know if that time works for you.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Tim,

Your Jira admin does not need to be SqlDBM Admin. They just need to communicate
1) Jira Admin installs the SqlDBM app
2) SqlDBM Admin or Jira Admin logs into Jira and searches for the app
3) SqlDBM Admin logs in and selects a project

I have sent you an invite for Friday, Oct 6th, 2023 (Tomorrow) for 7am Sydney time. I understand if you are unable to make that. In that case, we can schedule a call for Tuesday, October 10th 2023 for anytime between 9am - 11am Sydney time.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana

Hi Tim,

That is correct. You will Jira Admin to set it up and SqlDBM Admin to sign-in to allow you to connect to a project.

Please let me know if scheduling a small call will be helpful. I see you also have a confluence issue. We can go over both of them on the call if you like.

Thanks,
Retinder Labana
